Bill Aliferis was a very well known violinist and guitarist, performing not only in Greek music circles, but also in Arabic and Armenian groups as well. In New England he played in the more important clubs of this era, such as the Club Zara, Club Kiam, the El Morocco of Boston and the Seventh Veil in Rhode Island. He was also a familiar figure in the Greek and Arabic clubs of Las Vegas and Puerto Rico. Bill also made numerous recordings with many local musicians.

Bill was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and began his career performing at church functions, dances, weddings and other private affairs. He graduated from the Longy School of Music in Boston and also attended the New England Conservatory of Music.

He was loved and respected as a unique talent by all of the musicians performing during the 1960s and 1970s.His untimely death in 1972, at the age of 26, was deeply felt by the many musicians with whom he had worked.
